Patricia Ann "Memom" Gazaille, 83, of Abilene, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2024, with her family by her side.
Patricia (Pat) was born in Lamesa, Texas to William and Amanda Schneider on September 22, 1941. She proudly graduated from Big Spring High School, where she excelled both academically and as a standout player on the volleyball team.
On November 16, 1968, she married the love of her life, Edward Gazaille, in Albuquerque, New Mexico and they enjoyed 55 years together.
They raised three wonderful children and were Memom and Papa to five amazing grandchildren and 11 adorable great-grandchildren. The oldest grandchild, Jillian, named Pat "Memom", and from that moment on, she was Memom to everyone.
Memom loved her family fiercely, bringing them together weekly for the legendary "Sunday Supper." She had a passion for family parties and planned them for every occasion, including birthdays, holidays, and of course, Superbowl Sunday. Every gathering included games and prizes for all.
Pat and Ed had many adventures and traveled to every state in the United States and throughout Europe. With eight relocations, the military life fostered Pat's gypsy spirit. Pat was meticulous and detail-oriented and made military life with a family seem easy. Pat's excellent work ethic and skills made her a sought-after employee. Over the years, she held a variety of jobs, but her family always came first. She retired from the City of Abilene in 2005 after ten years of dedicated service.
Pat loved the LORD and was very involved at Zion Lutheran Church where she was a member for 48 years. She served in the Choir, Social Ministry, Stewardship Committee, Altar Guild, and Mission Board. Pat and Ed were faithful members of JOY Club.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Dorothy Saavedra.
