Patricia Lee Gaines

Our beautiful, amazing and loved Patricia went to heaven on Sunday, May 14, 2017.  She leaves behind many, many people that loved her very dearly.  Pat was very devoted and extremely busy when spending her days on earth.  She was active and an elder in Westminster Presbyterian Church in Abilene.  She eagerly assumed roles as chairperson of several committees and was very active in choir.  She was very talented and loved music.  This was evidenced by her very active roll in Abilene Star Sweet Adelines in Abilene and Lubbock Texas Sweet Adelines and church choir.  She loved and participated in so many things that included extensive travels to many parts of the world.  She also loved dancing to country western music.  She met her husband, Robert, through this avenue and continued this love for the rest of her life.  She was a very loving and loved person.  Everyone that knew Pat loved her.

Patricia was preceded in death by sons, Willie Smith and Gary Gaines; daughter, Suzy Gaines and mother, Dorothy Singer.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Gaines, of 32 years of blissful marriage; four children, Danita Seaton, Richard Fabian, Greg Gaines and Jay Reagan; and her loving sister, Janet Starkey; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Colin Sheehan, Tanner, Cody and Keegan Seaton, Gus and Sam Gaines.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, May 19, 2017 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 4515 South 14th Street, Abilene, Texas.  Rev. Chris Turner and Rev. William Starkey will officiate.  Burial will follow at 3:00 pm in the Woodland Park Cemetery in Mineral Wells, Texas, directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home.

Being married to Patricia for the past 32 years has been the most wonderful part of her husband’s life.  She will have his love forever. He will look forward, very eagerly, to meeting her again in their new heavenly home.
