Patricia "Pat" Caldwell, 77, died Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at an Abilene nursing center.
The daughter of Ruby Lou (Jeffries) and Robert Freeman Morgan, she was born on July 28, 1935 in Olney, Texas. She was a 1952 graduate of Wylie High School and attended Abilene Christian College for one year. Pat retired from Sears, Roebuck & Co. as office manager in the service department after a 21-year career. After retirement, she worked for K.C. Cleaners for ten years. She was a member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard G. Caldwell in 2000; daughter, Latisha Ingram; parents; and two sisters, Bobbie Hardwick and Barbara Vance.
Pat is survived by her son, Ricky Caldwell of Clyde; daughter, Debbie Miller and husband Ellis of Hobbs, NM; sister, Cindy Jay and husband Bill of Abilene; five grandchildren, Misty Moore, Tika Bilbo, Kristopher Miller, Colt Miller and Shelby Moutray; seven great-grandchildren, Justin Bilbo, Christopher Bilbo, Brayden Bilbo, Brandon Moore, Brian Moore, Coltin Miller and Maci Miller; and several nieces and nephews.
Her family was very important to her. Pat was always thinking of the needs of others before her own. She will be missed by all.
Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m. Friday, October 12, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene, with Brother John Fanning officiating, assisted by Rev. Stan Allcorn. Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
