Ozella Marie "Granny" Fritts Ozella Marie "Granny" Fritts, 95, of Abilene, Texas died Sunday, November 4, 2012 at a local medical center. The son of Haddie Nellie (Wicks) and William Fredreck Gardner, Marie was born on July 3, 1917 in Clyde, Texas, and graduated from Eula High School. Twelve years ago, she moved from Dallas to Abilene, where she was a homemaker and a member of Victory Church in Abilene. Marie was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert B. Stebbins; in 2000 by husband, Alfred J. Fritts, whom she married on September 6, 1974 in Dallas, Texas; parents; seven brothers and two sisters. Marie is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Juanita Harbuck and Bruce of Sweetwater, Texas, Shirley Sharp and George of Abilene, and Linda Patterson and Floyd of Austin; one stepson, Jerry Fritts and wife Elaine of California; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 9, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene, with Rev. Randy Estes officiating. A graveside service will follow at 3:30 p.m. Friday in Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Abilene at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
