Otto Paul Creek, Jr., 80, went to be with his Lord on July 27, 2016, in Abilene. Visitation will be Saturday, July 30, 2016 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, TX. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 P.M., Monday, August 1st at The Hamil Family Funeral Home with Dr. Don Greenway of North Side Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene. Mr. Creek was born July 7, 1936 in Leaday, TX to Otto Paul Creek, Sr. and Gladys Wireman Creek. Paul grew up in Leaday but his family moved to Coleman in 1954. While attending Coleman High School he met the love of his life, Judy Norwood, and upon graduation in 1956 they were joined in marriage and were blessed with two children, Bradley Wayne & Lisa Lynne. Paul joined the USAF in 1958 and was stationed in El Paso assigned to the Security Police squadron as a Sentry Dog Handler. He later served on the Security Police Pistol Team before he retrained in 1961 to become a flight crew on the EC-121, 552nd wing at McClellan AFB, Sacramento, CA. The EC-121 radar plane flew missions over Vietnam, Korea & Cuba and he received First, Second, Third, Fourth Oak Leaf Cluster Air Medals for Meritorious Service and Air Force Commendation Medals along with many other awards. He was proud to be a Vietnam Vet. In 1971 he retrained into Flight Simulator Maintenance as was stationed with the 7th Fighter Interception Squadron, Keflavik, Iceland, along with his family, which was one of their memorable moves they will never forget. Paul retired with 25 years of service in 1979 and was employed at Texas Instruments as Design Engineer Technician until retirement. Paul, along with Judy, enjoyed working in many departments at their church North Side Baptist. Paul's hobbies were fishing, hunting, shooting his guns and being a member of NRA. Paul received his private flying license in 1960 which was one of his boyhood dreams come true. Paul leaves behind his beloved wife of 59 years, a son, Bradley Wayne Creek, wife, Teresa & grandson, Joshua Creek, a daughter, Lisa Lynne Moline and husband, Tony, granddaughter, Amanda Molina, grandson, Joseph Lenzi & Step-grandson, Nathan Molina, two sisters, Jane Price & Nancy Hawthorne & husband, Harry. Paul was preceded in Heaven by his father, Otto Paul Creek, Sr. & mother, Gladys Creek. Memorials may be made to North Side Baptist Church's General Funds.
