Oscar Lynn Davis

Oscar Lynn Davis, of Abilene, died Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at the age of 67. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm today, Thursday July 3, 2008, at the Rising Sun Cemetery. Dr. Dennis Patience, of the First Christian Church of Albany, will officiate. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. January 17, 1941, Lynn was born in Coleman, Texas to the late Oscar and Bonnie Davis. He graduated from Abilene High School. Lynn worked as a driller and truck driver for West-Tex Drilling, Hack Drilling and Abilene Livestock Auction. Lynn is survived by one son, David Davis and his wife Karen, of Nugent, Texas; one daughter, Renee Browning, of Abilene; three brothers, Doyle Davis and his wife Betty, of Granbury, Texas, Sammy Davis and his wife Brook, of Albany, Texas, and Troy "Jeep" Davis, of Abilene; one sister, Dolores Stone and her husband Donald, of Cleburne, Texas; five grandchildren, Steven Houck, Amy Allen, Misty Davis, Ashley Davis and Cory Carpenter; two great-grandchildren, Caden and Tristen; and several nieces and nephews.
