Orlando Antonio "Tony" Hernandez, 65, of Odessa, Texas passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012 in at a local.
Born in Pecos, Texas on September 18, 1946, Tony was the son of Josefa Palianes Hernandez and Froto Ramos. He lived in Andrews, Texas prior to moving to Odessa twenty years ago. He worked in the oil field most of his life, but in later years owned a snow cone and ice cream truck. Tony was a member of Primera Iglesia Baptista in Andrews. He enjoyed his daily coffee and people watching at Starbuck's as well as playing Bingo and going to casinos.
He married Helen Vega in Odessa in 1993. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Tony is survived by his wife Helen Hernandez of Odessa; son Daniel Hernandez of Monahans; daughters Sonia DeLeon of Abilene and Rosalinda Munoz of Lubbock; stepson Johnny G. Martinez of Odessa; stepdaughters Linda Perez of Odessa and Diana Martinez of Abilene; half-brother Robert Rios and wife Connie of Wink, Texas; aunt and uncle, Senaida and Blas Hernandez of Andrews; twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Friday, June 29, 2012 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene with Ray Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. The family visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Abel DeLaCruz, Carl Crisp, Daniel Hernandez, Jermey Perez, Roger Bueno and Johnny Martinez.
