Olive Miriam Bush

Olive Miriam Bush, 95, passed away on March 25, 2013 in Abilene, Texas. Funeral arrangements will be handled by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene, TX. Burial will be at a future time at Schoeneck Moravian Cemetery in Nazareth, PA. Olive was born in Bushkill Township, PA, to Robert L. Colver and Mary J. Colver on Sept. 21, 1917. She went to school in Nazareth and graduated from High School in 1935. She married Walter James Bush on October 31, 1941 in Nazareth. She retired as a dressmaker from Nazareth Waist Mill in the 1980s. Olive worshipped at Schoeneck Moravian Church and was involved in many different activities such as quilting, piano-playing, and choir. She loved being with children as a Sunday School Teacher, and enjoyed going for walks outdoors to bask in nature. Olive was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and multiple siblings. She is survived by her son Dan and wife Kirsten, and grandson Jason, as well as her two sisters Grace Rheinhart and Bessie Trach. Memorials may be given to Hospice of the Big Country in Abilene, or Schoeneck Moravian Church in Nazareth. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the Hospice of the Big Country and the staff at Wisteria Skilled Nursing Home for their expert care of Olive.
