Oleta N. McMinn Oleta N. McMinn, 95, went to be with our Lord July 21st, 2013. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday July 25, 2013 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 26, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Donny Harbers will be bringing the message and Russ Ponder the Eulogy. Burial will follow at Potosi Cemetery on Potosi Road in Potosi. Oleta was born in Abilene, Texas on August 4, 1917 to parents Homer Grady and Suretha May Lofland. She attended school in Potosi. Oleta was married to O.C. McMinn on October 13, 1934. They had two daughters Beth and Arlene and one son Clyde. Oleta was an elevator operator in San Diego, California and worked at Southside Baptist Church Abilene in the Day Care as well as cooking for the Wednesday night meals. She dedicated many years to taking care of family and friends, and one of her greatest joys was giving to the Disabled Veterans of Foreign Wars as well as corresponding to many of them. Oleta was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband O.C. McMinn, a brother Wilburn Lofland and a grandson Larry Williams. Oleta is survived by daughters Beth Killough, Arlene Poteet, son Clyde and his wife Melanie McMinn, one sister Wilna Thomas, 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons. Memorials may be made in Oleta’s name to the Hospice of the Big Country or the Potosi Cemetery.
