Ola B. Cook Pruitt, 86, died Thursday, April 22, 2010, at an Abilene nursing home.
The daughter of Pearl (Rittenberry) and John Watts, Ola was born on November 8, 1923 in Hamby, Texas, and graduated from Abilene High School. She was the owner and operator of coin-operated laundries and a member of Hawley United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Pruitt was preceded in death by her two husbands, B. J. "Cookie" Cook and T. G. Pruitt; one son, Billy Mac Cook in 2005; three brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Patty Cook of Abilene; granddaughter, Lacey Anne Cook of Arlington; several; nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene, with Brother Ronnie Newton officiating. Interment will follow in Hawley Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
