Norma Delores Brickner, 77 passed away on August 29th, 2013 in Abilene, Texas.
Funeral services will be at First Baptist Church Chapel, at 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 1st, 2013 with Palmer McCown officiating. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
She was born on January 16th, 1936 in Abilene, Texas to John Everette and Bessie Harris. A graduate of Abilene High School and McMurry College, Norma married Ralph Leroy Brickner on December 7th, 1957. She worked as a Budget Analyst for the U.S. Government in the Air National Guard department for many years. Norma was involved at First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Joy Sunday school class. She was also a member of the Philharmonic and the Abilene Women’s Club. She loved watching her grandchildren do many activities and being with her best friend, Shirley Hood.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Kenneth Harris. Norma is survived by sisters, LaVerne Blanks, Janette Lett and Sylvia Niemeyer (Bill); and one brother, James Harris. Norma leaves behind her daughter, Dominique Aguirre and husband Gilbert of Abilene; her son Everette Brickner of Florida; her loving grandchildren, Gibson Aguirre of College Station, Allie Aguirre of Abilene, Erika and Steven Brickner both of Florida, and David Martin of South Dakota. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
