Norma Mae Altum

Norma Mae Altum, 76, died Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at an Abilene medical center. Born in Fort Sumner, New Mexico on May 11, 1935, Norma was the daughter of the late Thelma Mae (Fletcher) and Arthur Norman Parish. In 1954 she graduated from high school in Atoka, Oklahoma and moved to Abilene. Norma worked for Timex, Texas Instruments and U.S. Bass. She had been a member of Broadview Baptist Church since 1967. Norma is survived by her husband, Raymond Altum, whom she married November 2, 1962 in Abilene, sister, Mary Sue Kunde of Fort Worth, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 5, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd., with Rev. David Cason officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Broadview Baptist Church Building Fund, 2500 South 27th St., Abilene, TX 79605.
