Naoma Ditmore, 89, died Saturday, January 2, 2010, in Abilene, Texas.
Born in Stephenville, Texas, on April 18, 1920, Naoma was the daughter of Alice (Davis) and Cy Cox. Since 1964, she had been a resident of Abilene, where she retired from the Abilene State School as a dorm supervisor. After her retirement, she worked for the Attorney General's office in Abilene as a volunteer for eighteen years. Mrs. Ditmore was a member of University Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles V. Ditmore, on April 24, 1978; her parents; and five sisters.
Naoma is survived by sons, Wesley Ditmore of Abilene and Cy Ditmore of Horsehoe Bay, Texas; granddaughter, Melyssa Reivers of Belton, Texas; grandson, Micah Ditmore of Horseshoe Bay; great-grandson, Cameron Erickson of Belton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 11, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene, with Derrick Bam officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, January 10, at the funeral home.
