Nancy was born July 18, 1948, to Ralph Irvin Teten and Ada Sylvia Milliorn in Saint Ann's Hospital in Abilene. She lived her whole life there, in and around Abilene. She attended Wylie until the 4th grade, then Butterfield School from 5th grade to 8th grade, where she won a gold basketball trophy. Nancy also played volleyball and track in addition to basketball, and she was a cheerleader for Butterfield sports. In addition to the range of sports she played, she also excelled academically, finishing 8th grade as Salutatorian of her class. Nancy attended Madison Jr. High for 9th grade, where she was President of the Future Homemakers Club, and a representative for the 9th grade class.
Nancy attended Abilene Cooper High School, where she was the Cooper High Industrial Arts Club Sweetheart in 1964, and the Sweetheart of Auto Body Shop in 1965. In 1965, Nancy married Bobby Christie, and their son, Chane Christie, was born in December of 1965.
She had many jobs in her lifetime, the first was for Lind Paper Company as a bookkeeper. She worked several years there until she met Henry (Sonny) Palmour, who she went on to marry in 1969. They had a daughter, Chandi Palmour Bassett (Jason), in 1970. Chandi went on to have four kids of her own. Chandi's daughter, Tiffany Sivley, died in 2021 from COVID. Tiffany left behind three boys, Conner, Austin, Hunter Delcarman, and one girl, Sofia Delcarman. Chandi's son, Justin Sivley, had three girls, Kylie, Tessie, and Jenny, and son, Levi. Heather Herrera (Antonio) was Chandi's second daughter, and Michael Harris (Ary) was Chandi's second son. She is also survived by brothers, Richard and Jerry Teten, and sister, Patsy Roach, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Nancy loved gardening and had a beautiful yard wherever she lived, and she did it all mostly by herself. She loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. She was a person who could talk to anyone; that's why she went on to sell real estate for 15 years. She had gone to Cisco Junior College to get her real estate license. Nancy had to retire when she had open heart surgery. She said she missed talking to the buyers and showing homes.
She was preceded in death by Pop Teten and Nanny Teten, brother, Wesley Robert Teten and granddaughter, Tiffany Denae Sivley.
Nancy's last words were "I'll see you all in Heaven. I love you all."
