Muriel H. Davis, 94 of Abilene, TX passed away on December 14, 2013 in Abilene.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm December 18 at Royal Estates of Abilene with Randy Reese of Beltway Park Baptist Church officiating. Her body will be cremated. The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road is handling arrangements.
Muriel H. Davis was born in Ohio on August 1, 1919. She graduated from High School in 1937 and then from Bowling Green University in 1941 with a Bachelors Degree in Home Economics. Muriel married M. E. Davis and she spent most of her life in Roswell, NM. She taught home economics for several years, was a homemaker and held memberships in the Eastern Star, the New Mexico CowBelles, and the Roswell Fiber Craft Guild.
Muriel was a talented artist and seamstress who found her real passion and gift in weaving. She was a master weaver and even at 94 she left an unfinished Christmas present on the loom.
Muriel was preceded in death by her husband M.E. Davis, one brother and one granddaughter Kelsey Davis.
Muriel is survived by her son, Dan E. Davis of Abilene, one brother Clarence Miller of Seattle, WA , three grandchildren Pecos Davis, Megan Burris and Chezie Parsons and four great-grandchildren, all of New Mexico.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Royal Estates staff and residents for their love and care for Muriel. They raised the quality of her life and by doing so extended the time we have had to share with her. We will be forever grateful.
