Milo (Mike) Arnold Ziegenhagen, 78, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017 in Abilene, Texas. The son of the late Agnes Wiebeler and Arnold Ziegenhagen, Milo was born on February 10, 1938 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He attended Le Center High School in Le Center, Minnesota.
Milo proudly served and retired from the United States Air Force. He had worked for Treanor Equipment Company, Texas Instruments, and Eastern Oaks Apartments. He married Carole Jean Riddle on August 7, 2003 in Abilene, Texas. He was a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather. Milo was a diehard fan of the Minnesota Vikings and the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed building model trains, boats, and airplanes. He was a master modeler.
He adored his dog, Max Ziegenhagen, more than words could express. Milo was a member of Broadview Baptist Church in Abilene.
He is survived by his wife, Carole and five children from a previous marriage: sons, Michael Ziegenhagen, Randall and Christy Ziegenhagen, Daniel Ziegenhagen, William and Maria Ziegenhagen; daughter, Christina and Donnie Deerinwater; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 am on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, with Scott Frazier officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 pm at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Bill Ziegenhagen, Randall Ziegenhagen, Jr., Alex Ziegenhagen, Michael Ziegenhagen, Rich Dunlap, and Jim Gibson will serve as pallbearers.
