Mildred Wright, of Abilene, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2007, at the age of 91. Funeral services, with Burtis White and Ed Wright officiating, will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 27 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mildred was born the daughter of Mark Amos Patterson and Lillie (Davis) Patterson on March 20, 1916 in Crews, Texas. She graduated from Lawn High School. In Abilene, on July 7, 1934, Mildred married C.E. "Hoot" Wright. The couple had three children. She was a homemaker and a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Mildred was a member of Southwest Park Christian Church in Abilene.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, C.E. Wright in 1991, two brothers and two sisters. Mildred is survived by one son, Ed Wright and his wife Johnnie Sue of Lawn; two daughters, Betty Files and her husband Jerry of Abilene, Charlotte Tutt and her husband Jim also of Abilene; one brother, Harris Patterson of Farmers Branch, Texas; seven grandchildren, Barbara Berryman, Glenda Balderas, Cleve Tutt, Kevin Tutt, Cristi Doty, JoDee Rideout and Jordan Wright; ten great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Cleve Tutt, Kevin Tutt, Jordan Wright, Frank Berryman, Tim Doty and Craig Rideout will serve as pallbearers.
