Mildred Lerlene Dupree

Mildred Dupree, 89, died Thursday, June 2, 2016 in Abilene, Texas. Born in Hamby, Texas on February 4, 1927, Mildred was the daughter of Flossie D. (Hindsley) and Perry O. Copeland. She attended Abilene High School and married Tommy M. Dupree on June 1, 1946 in View, Texas. She worked at T.G. & Y. and Timex. She was a member of Elmwood Baptist Church in Abilene. Mildred was preceded in death her husband, Tommy Dupree in 2009, one brother and six sisters. Survivors include her son Gary Dupree and wife Ruby of Abilene; daughter Neda Troutman of Austin; three sisters Coretta Brown and husband Ken of Abilene, Arletta Lis and husband Jim of Houston and Perrylene Taylor of Bonham; four grandchildren and spouses, Thomas Dupree (Jeanna), Dwayne Dupree (Pearl), Jennifer Bevill and Brad Dupree (Dena); eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 3 to 5 pm Sunday, June 5, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday, June 6, at Elmwood Baptist Church, 2933 South 7th Street, officiated by Rev. Joel Toby. Burial will follow in Hawley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Dupree, Dwayne Dupree, Thomas Dupree and Chad Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Dupree, Aiden Garcia and Rusty Hendon.
