Mike Hendrix

Mike Hendrix, 71, of Tuscola, Texas died Sunday, February 22, 2015 at his residence. The son of Lillian Faye (Scarbrough) and Willard Nolan Hendrix, Mike was born on September 11, 1943 in Ballinger, Texas, and graduated from Winters High School in 1961. He married Gweneth Jo Caskey on August 26, 1963 in Winters, Texas. Mike was a farmer and rancher. His pride and joy was the fact that he was a team roper and a Champion Team Roper for many years. He attended Bluff Creek Cowboy Church. Mike was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Gweneth Jo Hendrix, in June of 2005; his parents; sister Rozanne Hendrix Colbath; and brother David Charles Hendrix. Survivors include his sister Lea Hubnik of Austin, numerous nieces and nephews, and many, many friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd. in Abilene. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Big Country, 4601 Hartford, Abilene TX 79605.
