Mickey Lynn Spindler, 57, of Abilene, passed away on October 6, 2018 at her home in Abilene, TX, surrounded by family and friends. Because she is a child of God and believer in our Savior Jesus Christ, her soul lives with our heavenly Father.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm; Wednesday, October 10th at The Hamil Family Funeral Home located at 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, TX.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm; Thursday, October 11th at South Pointe Church, 3050 Buffalo Gap Rd, Abilene, TX. Burial will follow at Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene, TX.

Mickey was born in Monterey, CA to Robert F. Ezzell and Mary Ruth Buster on January 15, 1961. She was raised in Wichita Falls, TX, and graduated from Hirschi High School. She later moved to Wichita, Kansas where she met and then married George Spindler on August 5, 1989. Mickey and George began raising a family in Wichita, Kansas and continued doing so as they traveled around the world during George's service to country in the US Air Force. She was a devoted wife and mother! George continued to serve in the US Air Force and they eventually moved to Abilene, TX, where George was assigned at Dyess AFB. She last worked as a Senior Claims Technician for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas for 15 years. She was actively involved in different aspects at South Pointe Church. She was a member of the Big Country Emmaus community. Mickey found great joy in serving others and spending time with her family. We will always remember Mickey for her positive attitude, unwavering faith, and her passion to serve Christ. Mickey persevered through the battle against cancer for two years and eight months. Mickey drew her strength from God's Word. Her life verse read, "I am able to do all things through him who strengthens me," Phil 4:13.

Mickey was preceded in death by her father Robert F. Ezzell, mother Mary Ruth Ezzell, niece Kylene Nicole Cates, and brother in-law Junior Urioste.

Mickey is survived by her husband George Spindler of Abilene, TX; their two adult children, daughter Lauren Spindler, and son Matthew Spindler; five siblings, sister Vicki Thornton and husband Jerry of Wichita Falls, sister Robin Urioste of Wichita Falls, brother Bobby Ezzell Jr. and wife Jeannie of Wichita Falls, sister Kristi Kylene Read and husband Mark of Wichita Falls, and brother Scott Ezzell of Wichita Falls; Mother in-law Maria Spindler of Bethel, CT and brother in-law Fred Spindler of Danbury, CT; and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved.

Memorials may be given to Hendrick Hospice Care, 1651 Pine St., Abilene, TX.
