Michael Larry Willis passed away at the Lynda White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana on October 24th, 2017 at the age of 64.
Mike is lovingly remembered by his wife Clarissa of Mount Vernon, Indiana; son John Willis of The Woodlands, Texas; mother Zella Willis of Abilene; brothers Brian (Kren) Willis of Abilene, Scott (Stephanie) Willis of Lawn; sister Lori (Stan) West of Hamby; stepdaughter Kimberly (Brad) Davis of Malvern, Arkansas; nephews Eric Willis, Dusty (Ashley) West, Evan (Kinzee) Willis; and nieces Lindsey West, Daisy Willis and Marly Willis. He was so proud to be a great uncle to Jax and Leighton Willis and step-grandfather to Jessa and Josie Davis.
Mike was born in Abilene, Texas on December 29, 1952. He was the oldest son of Zella and Gene (deceased) Willis. He graduated from Lee High School in Tyler, Texas and Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. He was a petroleum landman for Conoco-Lafayette Exploration, and later a biomedical sales representative for Fischer. Mike enjoyed sports, especially baseball. He had a great love for his family and his dogs. Mike was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Mount Vernon, Indiana.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, October 30th, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, Texas with Reverend Charles Nichols officiating. Interment to follow at Dewey Cemetery in Lawn, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Posey County Humane Society, 6500 Leonard Road, Mount Vernon, Indiana 47620. The family would like to thank Deaconess Hospice in Evansville for their support and help.
