Mike Hosch completed his journey on earth on Friday, June 21, 2024. God gave him to Suzanna on that date and took him home on their 55th wedding anniversary; to begin his eternal journey in the presence of Jesus, family and friends who went before him. His earthly journey began March 27, 1949 in Mineral Wells, Texas. His mother died of cancer when he was four months old. That's when William and Margaret Hosch adopted him and made him their one and only child in Abilene, Texas. They adored Mike, and he adored them. Mr. Hosch died when Mike was in the fourth grade, and Mrs. Hosch died in 1969. That year he married Suzanna Strickland and they have been married for 55 years.
Mike grew up in Abilene and attended schools here graduating from Abilene High in 1967. After graduation he attended Texas Tech and then decided he would like to be an electrician. He went to school at night for four years until he received his journeyman's license, working during the day to support his family. In 1998, he went to work for Lowes, and retired from there in 2021. He made many friends while working over the years, and Suzanna knew that because every place they went, he knew somebody she didn't know who he had met on job sites or at Lowe's.
Mike is survived by his wife, Suzanna and two children, Tyler and wife Debra of Willis, Texas, and Micah Dimock and husband Chad of Longview, Texas. Grandchildren Jameson Dimock and wife Victoria of San Antonio, Ireland Dimock of Dallas, Harrison Dimock of Longview and Brian Hosch. Mike loved his family and especially loved being Papa to his grandchildren.
Mike was a member of First Christian Church where he served as a Deacon and Elder. He loved his church and church family. He loved the Lord, and he lived his life to please Him. He was generous with his time and money, and always willing to help his fellow man. He was loved and will be missed by many.
