Michael L. Boeshart, 64, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at his residence in Tuscola, TX. The son of Aileen (Troth) Boeshart and Ray Boeshart of Abilene, Mike was born on May 26, 1946 in Sioux City, Iowa. He graduated as Valedictorian of his class from Valentine High School in Valentine, Nebraska in 1964. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968 in Vietnam as part of the Signal Corp attached to Big Red One in Ben Hao and later attended Hardin-Simmons University. He married Judy Sander on August 22, 1970 in Abilene.
Since 1971, Mike devoted many years and countless hours of service as a member of the West Texas Fair Rodeo Committee and served as Chairman from 1992 through 2004. He received his PRCA Gold Card in 1991.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Judy; son, Scott Boeshart and wife, Elissa and two loving grandchildren, Sydney "Beauregard" and Rhett "Bellvidere"; one brother, Dennis Boeshart and twin sisters, Linda Rae Boeshart and Lianne Sterkel in addition to numerous extended family.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel at The Hamil Family Funeral Home located at 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene.
