Melinda "Mindy" Smith McNally, 44, died Sunday, July 19, 2009, at an Abilene medical center. A native of Abilene, Texas, she was born on March 17, 1965, the daughter of Linda (Riewe) and Bryan Smith. She graduated from Abilene High School with the Class of "83", and attended both Hardin-Simmons University and Cisco Junior College. Mindy and Stephen A. McNally were married on September 6, 1986 in Abilene. Mindy was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, serving on the Board of Social Ministries and as a part time office assistant. She loved her family and her faith family at Zion Lutheran Church very much. Survivors include her husband, Stephen McNally of Abilene; daughters, Ashley McNally and Hailey McNally both of Abilene; parents, Linda and Bryan Smith of Abilene; brother, Scottie Smith and wife, Kelly, of Odessa; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 22nd, at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Clyde Kieschnick officiating, directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials in honor of Mindy may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church Capital Campaign, 2801 Antilley Rd., Abilene, TX 79606.
