Melinda Katharine Luther

The Lord brought Melinda into this world April 12, 1956 and she went to heaven, Thursday, June 12, 2008. Melinda was a loving mother and grandmother, beloved wife, devoted friend and she loved the Lord with all her heart, soul, strength and mind. During her battle with cancer she put all her trust in the Lord. Melinda was born in Philippi, West Virginia to Dr. Charles and Dorothy Meadows. She lived in Abilene since she was 5 years old, graduating from Cooper High School in 1974 and Abilene Christian University in l979. Melinda married her high school sweetheart, Jeff Luther, in 1975 and they began their lives together building a family and a construction business. She worked by his side as a business manager for thirty years. Melinda was a member of Bible Study Fellowship and University Baptist Church. She was actively involved in her community. Melinda is survived by husband, Jeff Luther, son, Adam Luther, daughter Ali Holamon and son-in-law Bryan Holamon. She is also survived by a grandson, Carson Holamon, a nephew Chris Meadows and his wife Katherine, a brother, Earle Meadows and a sister Amy Davis. She was preceded in death by her father Dr. Charles Meadows, mother Dorothy Waite Meadows and brother, Charles Meadows Jr. A memorial service celebrating her life will be at 8:45 a.m. on Saturday, June 14th at the Luther's place in Vista Del Sol on top of Steamboat Mountain. South on 83/84. Turn Right (West) on Bell Plains Road. Turn Left (South) on CR 127. Turn Right (West) on 650. Follow the flags. Services will be outside; therefore the family requests attendees dress casual and wear walking shoes. Memorials can be made in honor of Melinda Luther to University Baptist Church, 2141 Grape Street, Abilene, Texas 79601. Arrangements were handled by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
