Melba Nadine Lampkin, 85, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on January 18, 2020 in Abilene, Texas.
Memorial Service will be Saturday January 25, 2020 at 2:00 pm at View Baptist Church, 250 Boynton St. Abilene, Texas 79606. Pastor Mike Coffey will be officiating. Services directed under The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd. Abilene, Texas.
Melba, known best as Granny, was born March 28, 1934 in Shamrock, Texas to Henry and Alma Lemley. They moved to Amarillo, Texas when she was a young girl. She married Hershel Lampkin on June 23, 1955 in Tucumcari, New Mexico. They were married 64 years. She was a loving mom to Ronnie and Carl and the best mother-in-law to Robbin. Granny made her mark on life by being the best granny and great granny any kid could have. She loved, hugged, and kissed on all of her grandkids and great grandkids. She loved every moment spent with them. She enjoyed hearing stories of the new adventures they began and especially enjoyed seeing pictures and videos of them. She was a devoted granny and great granny and was everyone's number one fan.
Melba is preceded in death by her parents, her four sisters and one brother, her sons Ronnie, Terry, and Eddie.
Melba is survived by her husband Hershel Lampkin, son Carl Lampkin and wife Robbin of Abilene, Texas. Grandchildren Ryan Lampkin of Abilene, Texas, Tiffany Lampkin of Hobbs, New Mexico, Sarah Lampkin of Brownfield, Texas, and Amy Axtell-Newlon of Mesa, Arizona. Great Grandchildren Wyatt and Carl Lampkin of Abilene, Texas and Mason and Aubreigh Torres of Hobbs, New Mexico.
