Eloise Chamberlain, 85, of Tuscola, TX passed away on June 29, 2016 at Abilene Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. Thursday, June 30th at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene. Graveside services will be held 10:30 A.M. Friday, July 1, 2016 at the Iberis Cemetery with Terry St. Pierre officiating.
Eloise was born in Bloomfield, Iowa on January 16, 1931. She graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1949. Eloise went to work for her grandfather's company straight out of high school, Sam Watts Insurance Co. She married Jack Dale Chamberlain on May 11, 1951 in Bloomfield, Iowa. She left her job in 1952 to take care of her five children. They moved from Bloomfield, Iowa to Corning, Iowa 1960 to 1966, then to Columbian, MO 1966 to 1969. She moved to Abilene, TX in 1969, in 1976 she moved south of Abilene where she lived the remainder of her years.
Eloise maintained several rentals with her husband in Abilene before opening her business, The Lady Painter. She was a Volunteer with Sears Methodist Retirement Center and Noah Project in their starting years. She was most famous for her favorite holiday, Easter Sunday where she hosted Easter egg hunt for 55 plus years, for her many grandchildren and all their friends and family. Jack and Eloise celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary on May 15, 2016 at Rose Park with nearly 100 friends and family present.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emory Watts and Florence Harris Watts, sister Elaine Bibby & granddaughter Jamie Chamberlain.
Eloise is survived by her husband of 65 years, Jack Chamberlain. Children; Karen and Ron Quinney of Conroe, TX, Diana and Michael Flud of Hawley, TX, Dale Chamberlain of Abilene, TX, Scott Chamberlian of Tye, TX, Eric and Becky Chamberlian of Tuscola, TX. Sixteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, One great-great-grandchild and with a very large extended family.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Quinney, Jonathan Quinney, Chantry Quinney, Rusty Quinney, Robert Quinney, Josh Flud, Dywane Chamberlain and Randy Chamberlain.
Memorial may be given in lieu of flowers to Ben Richey Boys Ranch or Kindred Hospice of Abilene.
