Mattie Nell Edens Patty

Mattie Nell Edens Patty, 82, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2006 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, with Rev. Derrell Patterson officiating, assisted by Rev. Stan Allcorn. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 on Monday, February 13, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Mattie was born November 18, 1923, in Big Spring, Texas to Albert Armstead Edens and Jessie Maude Davis. On October 25, 1942, Mattie Edens married Robert Eugene Patty in Big Spring, Texas. She moved to Abilene in 1964 from San Leandro, California. She graduated from McMurry College with a B.S. Degree. Mrs. Patty was a homemaker and a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Mattie was preceded in death by both of her parents, one brother, Davis Balis Edens and one son, Freddie Lynn Patty. She is survived by her husband, Robert Eugene Patty of Abilene; one son, Robert Leigh "Bob" Patty and his wife Judy of Abilene; seven grandchildren, Shannon Marie Patty, Sanda Lynn Patty Rose and her husband Chris, Laurisa Venee Patty, Erin Nicole Patty, Robert James Patty and his wife Cathy, Jon Christopher Patty, and Emily Elisabeth Patty; and three great-grandchildren, Sean Michael Patty, Meagan Marie Patty and Logan Nicole Rose. Kirk Edens, John Wesley Deats, Jimmie Underwood, Tom Wilkins, Rick Cason, Minh Truong, Robbie Patty and Jon Patty will serve as pallbearers.
