Matt Sardo

Matt Sardo, 63, of Hawley, died Saturday, October 28, 2006 in a local hospital. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow the visitation at 7:00 p.m. The visitation and memorial service will be held at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Chaplain Jack Smith will officiate. Mr. Sardo was born, September 4, 1943, to Peter and Rose "Maniace" Sardo in Detroit, Michigan. After graduating from high school, he served two years in the U.S. Air Force. Matt moved to the Abilene area ten years ago from Florida. He worked as a trauma tech for seven years at Hendrick Health Systems. He loved to hunt and loved the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his father, Peter Sardo. Matt is survived by his wife, Barbara "Bobbie" Sardo of Hawley, his mother, Rose Sardo-Mazzola of Holly, Michigan, two step-daughters; Elizabeth and her husband, James Archer of College Station, Texas and Christine and her husband, James Lucas of Waco, Texas; two brothers; Peter Sardo of Holly, Michigan and Alfred Sardo of Utica, Michigan.
