A little after 7:00 PM on Monday, August 18, 2014 our mother, Mary Ellen Harper Bollinger Williams was met at the gates of heaven by her mother and father, Lura and Minor Harper and her sister Louise Faye Harper Love. Jesus was there with his arms outstretched and welcomed home his favorite little nurse. She was greeted as she lived with the barks and meows of all the four legged babies she had to say good bye too over her 82 years. Mother was born on February 25, 1932 in Breckenridge, Texas. She left home after high school to attend Parkland School of Nursing where she lived and learned for the next four years. Upon returning to Ranger she began her long career at the Ranger Hospital where she met her lifelong friend, Luella Roach. Our Mother was known to all as a nurse. She told us that she knew she wanted to be a nurse since she was a little girl. As all nurses trained in the fifties, our Mother had starch. She was strong, independent, and loved taking care of her patients. She also loved us. Jaye Harlene “Butch” Adkins (Thomas & son Christopher), Melody Kim Jackson (Roy) and Mary Beth Hensley(Miles & son Shane, Tina, Mary & David), her fur babies Tucker, Mikey, Toughie & Jack. We are her daughters. She raised us to be strong women, to know when it is time to fight and when it is time to let go. Today we let her go, with the promise that we will see her again. Enjoy the reunion Mother. Walk with no pain, point your new finger and tell them all how it should be. We love and miss you….Butch, Kim & Betsy.
