MARY ANN (WRIGHT) REEVES
Mary Ann Reeves of Abilene, Texas left this world to be with our Lord on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the young age of 73, taking with her the sweet smile, wit, and compassion she shared with those who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be Monday, February 24, 2014 from 6pm to 8pm at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, Texas 79606.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Wylie Baptist Church, 6097 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, Texas 79606 with Dwaine Williams and Billy Sellers officiating. Burial will follow at Potosi Cemetery. Arrangements are by The Hamil Family Funeral Home.
Mary was born in Snyder, Texas to Jim and Effie Wright on October 29, 1940. She graduated from high school in Loraine, Texas in 1959. She married Kenneth Reeves on November 7, 1959 in Hermleigh, Texas. They owned Reeves Safety, a safety business in Abilene for 17 years. She was an awesome wife, a loving “meme” to all her grandkids. She loved to cook, sew, can and “loved to dance”. Most importantly, she was a loving and caring Mother and Friend.
Mary was preceded in death by her mother and father, Jim and Effie Wright. Brothers; Ray Wright, Frank Wright, Calvin Wright, Don Wright and James Wright. Sisters; Ruth Davis and Naomi Wright.
Mary is survived by her husband Kenneth Reeves. Children Kenny Reeves and his wife Lori of Abilene, Jimmy Reeves and his wife Cheryl of Liberty Hill, Justin Reeves and his wife Natalie of Lampasas, Lance Reeves and his wife Denise of Abilene. Brother W.E (Dub) Wright of Andrews. Grandchildren Jennifer Manuel and her husband Wes of Stephenville, Jolene Scobel of Corpus Christi, Kenny Reeves III and his girlfriend Carissa Karr of Stephenville, Michael Reeves of Stephenville, Jake Reeves, Jason Reeves, Jayla Reeves, Dobie New and Dakota New of Liberty Hill; Preston Reeves, Bailey Reeves of Lampasas, Veronica Greene and Victoria Reeves of Abilene. Great Grandchildren; Madison and Paighton Manuel and many nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Dobie New, Wes Manuel, Kenny Reeves III, Jake Reeves, Michael Reeves, Dakota New, Jason Reeves, and Preston Reeves. Granddaughters presenting flowers will be Jennifer Manual, Carissa Karr, Veronica Greene, Jayla Reeves, Bailey Reeves, and Victoria Reeves.
She loved attending and watching her grandchildren play in the various sports, traveling anywhere to see them. The family asks in lieu of flowers memorials be made to either Lampasas ISD Athletics, 207 W. 8th St, Lampasas, Tx. 76550, Liberty Hill ISD attn.: Dr. Hart, 14001 Hwy. 29 Liberty Hill, Tx. 78642 or a charity of your choice.
