Mary Elizabeth Rasco Williams known to her family and friends as Betty, age 86, of Abilene, passed from this world to her eternal home with Jesus on April 7, 2016
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 7:30 P.M. on Friday, April 8th at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Betty was born in Abilene to Rufus and Eula Rasco on August 9, 1929. She graduated from Grosvenor High School in Brown County. She married F.D. (Red) Williams on May 3, 1947, at the home of her parents in Abilene. They lived in Big Spring over twenty-five years where she worked several years at the phone company; then opened and operated the Hobby Center and Picture Framing Gallery until they moved in the mid seventies to Lake Brownwood and opened/operated a new business in Brownwood known as Masterframer, a custom picture framing & art supply business with Red teaching people from across the country the art of conservation framing. She had an uncanny connection to and affection for dogs, and a very lucky few had the privilege of her care and devotion.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Joe Rasco of Abilene; and her devoted husband of 62 years.
She is survived by her daughter Dianna Boren and son-in-law Bob of Abilene; her sister Patsy Stuard and husband Jack of Abilene; her sister Jane Thomson and her husband James of Fort Worth and nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given in her memory to the charity of your choice. We wish to extend a special thank-you to Dr. Maroney and the employees of Wesley Court.
