Mary Osterloo

Mary E. Price Chapman Osterloo of Abilene, Texas formerly of Killeen, Texas and Emery, South Dakota died October 29, 2024. 

Mary was born July 20, 1937in Adair County, Iowa, to Ralph and Ruth Price. She graduated from Greenfield, Iowa High School in 1955 and later joined the Women's Army Corp and was stationed at The Presidio of San Francisco where she met and married Frank Chapman. Mary and Frank had two children, and their military travels took them to Germany, Fort Carson, Colorado and Fort Hood, Texas where they made their permanent home. Her husband Frank passed in 1988, and Mary remained in the Kileen area continuing her career and attending Sunset Baptist Church and Memorial Baptist Church.

Mary retired from Darnall Army Hospital at Fort Hood after a lengthy civil service career.

Mary met and married Duane Osterloo in 2000 and they lived part time in South Dakota and Texas. Mary moved to Abilene, Texas in 2004 where she was active in Wylie Baptist Church.

Mary was a kind and generous mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by the many people that loved her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one brother and husband

Frank. She is survived by her children Carol (Ron) Matthis of Arthur City, Texas and David (Tracy) Chapman of Oro Valley, Arizona, her husband Duane Osterloo of Abilene, Texas, step-daughters, Pam (Allen) Rector of Abilene, Texas, Cindy (Rick) Archer of Katy, Texas and four grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, and one step-great grandchild. 

A celebration of life will be held at a later date and cremated remains will be interred at Killeen Memorial Park.
