Mary Ruth Morgan

Mary Ruth Adian Morgan, 94, of Rising Star, Texas passed away on July 27, 2018 at her home in Rising Star.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, with Dr. Jeff Reid officiating.  Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5726 US-277, Abilene, Texas.  Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home.

Mary was born in Coleman County, Texas to Franklin Alexander Adian and Gertrude Abernathy on June 18, 1924.  She graduated from Mozelle High School in Mozelle, Texas.  She spent 4 years working for Southern Pacific as a Telegraph Operator. In Big Spring, she owned My Lynda beauty shop, worked for the Big Spring State Hospital then the V.A. Hospital. In Abilene, she worked for Hendrick Hospital and later worked for Home Health. Mary was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rising Star. 

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Gertrude Abernathy; son, Walter Ray Morgan, Jr.; one grandson, Michael Stephen Faulkner; four brothers, Reuben, Joseph, John Thomas and Charles Adian; three sisters, Inez Dobbins, Loree Kehl and Irene Hammond. 

Surviving Mary is her three children, Lynda Faulkner of Rising Star, Daniel Lee Morgan of Brownwood, David Frank Morgan of Rising Star; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. 

Pallbearers will be Murray Day, Jimmy Minor, Doug Hatchett, Billy Hale, Stan Adian and Larry Adian.
