Mary Frances Lackey, 81, passed away in Abilene, where she had lived the past 2 years. She formally lived in Richardson for 53 years.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, May 13, 2016 at the Dallas First Assembly of God Church, 11000 East Northwest Hwy. in Dallas, TX. http://d1ag.org/ Pastor Daniel Enriquez will officiate. Visitation will be prior to funeral services from 9:00 to 9:45 am. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, TX.
A second visitation will follow Friday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home, 1410 East Carl Albert Parkway in McAlester, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, May 14, 2016 in the Kiowa Cemetery in Kiowa, Oklahoma.
Mary was born in Kiowa, OK to CL and Anna L. Lackey on October 7, 1934. She graduated from Kiowa High School. After graduating high school, she went to work for McKelvey Laundry in McAlester, OK and then Elsings Clothing Manufacturing in McAlester, OK. From there she moved to Richardson and began working for Texas Instruments in various positions for 36 years. Mary was a founding member of Calvary Chapel Assembly of God for over 40 years. She then became a member of Dallas First Assembly of God. Mary had been active in volunteering including in her church as well as the Richardson Senior Citizen Center, helping several charitable organizations.
She had many hobbies, which included reading, crocheting, knitting, sewing, bowling and traveled extensively around the world.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, CL and Anna L. Lackey. She is survived by her sisters, Meldon Lackey Turner of Lubbock, and Sandra Lackey Wichern and husband Richard, of Springfield, MO; nephews, Randy Turner and wife, Bobbie of Abilene, Nathan Wichern and wife Edrie of Springfield, MO, and Chris Wichern of Costa Mesa, CA; niece, Gwen Stabler and husband Rusty of Lubbock, TX; and 11 great-nieces and nephews, of whom she was close to all.
Pallbearers are Geoffrey Turner, Nathan Wichern, Chris Wichern, Landon Turner, Billie Griggs, Gary Hogan
Memorials may be given to the Missions Ministry of Beltway Park.
