Mary Louise Johnston

Mary L. Johnston, of Abilene, died Saturday, January 5, 2008 at the age of 69. Funeral services, with Pastor David Cason officiating, will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 9, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Mary was born September 17, 1938 in Erick, Oklahoma to Dave and Ruby Elifrits. Moving from Odessa to Abilene, Mary has made Abilene her home for the past 29 years. She was a member of Broadview Baptist Church, where every summer she volunteered teaching Vacation Bible School. She especially enjoyed arts and crafts. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Billy Wayne Johnston and Dewayne Johnston, and three brothers. Mary is survived by her husband, Fred Johnston, two sons, Calvin Johnston and his wife Vicky, of Kansas, and Terry Johnston, of Abilene; one daughter, Jennie Fannin and her husband Rick, of Abilene; one sister, Betty Ceja, of Arkansas; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
