Mary Ercile Irion

Mary Ercile Irion, 93, of Abilene passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2015 in Abilene, Texas. Visitation will be Sunday, January 3 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. Graveside services will be held Monday, January 4 at 11:00 a.m. in Elmwood Memorial Park directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home. Ercile was born on August 28, 1922 in Abilene to Tom Vaughn and Jeffie Shields Vaughn. She married Richard “Dick” Irion on August 4, 1938 in Abilene. She worked at Cooper High School in the cafeteria for 18 years. She was a member of South Side Baptist Church and Abilene Garden Club. Ercile was preceded in death by her husband Dick Irion; sisters Bobbie Skipper and Merle Dean Waller; brother Omar Dee Malone; and son-in-law Stan Bedford. Ercile is survived by her son Mackie Irion and his wife Elaine Irion; daughter Tonya Bedford; grandchildren Richard Irion, Michael Irion, William Irion, Jason Bedford and wife Natisha Bedford, and Cari Hoover and husband Don Hoover; and great-grandchildren Nicholas Ramos and wife Krystal Ramos, Anna Irion, Kristen Irion, Abigael Bedford, Mackenzie Bedford, Shelby Hoover, Brayden Hoover, and Hadley Hoover.
