Mary "Louise" Hill, 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 15, 2006, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Hill was born November 19, 1920 in Hosston, Louisiana. She married Carl Granvell Hill November 9, 1935. Louise enjoyed life, her family, many different activities, painting, numerous years of volunteer service at Abilene Regional Center and her involvement at St. Paul United Methodist Church where she had been a member for many years. She has been a resident of Taylor County for more than sixty four years.
Her survivors include her five children and their spouses, Ralph & (Janie Rose) Thornhill of Abilene, David Carl Hill of Buffalo Gap, Jim & (Judy Len) Needham of Coleman, David & (Noel Lou) Benningfield of Georgetown, Carmen Ann Shafer of Conroe, Texas, fourteen grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Granvell Hill of Tuscola and one great grandson, Brady Thomas Thornhill.
We are sad for her passing, we celebrate her life and we cherish the many memories of our beloved Mother and "Grannie".
The family will receive friends and loved ones for Visitation, Friday, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd.
Graveside services will be held with the family at 9:30 am on Saturday, June 17, at the Buffalo Gap Cemetery. Memorial Services will be at 11:00 am., Saturday, June 17, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, with Reverends Ava Berry and Jon Sims officiating. Her seven grandsons will be pallbearers.
Her family would like to thank the excellent doctors and medical staff of Abilene Regional Medical Center, Sears Methodist Center and Sears Methodist Hospice for their dedicated care and friends for the many cards, gifts and prayers given during her illness. Your gift will go for the placement of a memorial in her memory in the new Abilene Regional Medical Center Chapel.
