Mary Frances Gilbreth, 68, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2013, after a long and painful battle with cancer.
The daughter of Willene (Selby) and Henry Clay Pounds, she was born on July 25, 1945, in Crossville, Tennessee. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother to Christina Takett and Aidan Foreman. Her journeys in life brought great joy, and also dealt her unimaginable sorrow. Through it all, she found solace and healing in the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Jeffrey Allan Gilbreth, as well as Shorty, Ginger and Chuckie-Boy, her beloved dogs.
Mary Frances is survived by her husband, Jerry Milton Gilbreth and various other family. Although we mourn her leaving this earth, we rejoice in the knowledge she is reunited with her son after 26 years.
She worked for First Financial Bank for a total of 25 years, was a volunteer for Hendrick Hospice for over 20 years; and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for 36 years. She was an extraordinary woman whose impact on the earth will be missed.
The family expresses special thanks to her precious friend, Jane Fisher, for taking such wonderful care of her through it all.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 29, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene, with Barry Glover officiating. Burial will follow in Potosi Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, December 28, at the funeral home.
