Mary Foster, of Buffalo Gap, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2008 at the age of 74. Funeral services, with Pastors Steve Joiner and Graham Gutting officiating, will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, at the First Baptist Church in Buffalo Gap. Burial will follow in the Buffalo Gap Cemetery. The family will receive friends today, Tuesday, April 1, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
December 23, 1933, Mary was born in Groesbeck, Texas to C.W. Ainsworth and Francis Beatrice "Bea" (Cundiff) Ainsworth. She graduated from Cisco High School and attended Draughn's Business College. Mary was a secretary for G.C.O. Drilling Company and Outreach Health Services. In Breckenridge Texas, Mary married Donald Lee Foster on December 12, 1955. Buffalo Gap has been Mary's home most of her life, where she was a member of First Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents and one granddaughter, Michelle Schick. Mary is survived by her husband, Donald Foster, of Buffalo Gap; one son, Jerry Don Foster and his wife Andrea, also of Buffalo Gap; one daughter, Donna Schick and her husband Roy, of Joliet, Illinois; one brother, Bud Ainsworth and his wife Sherilyn, of Murphy, Texas; one sister, Linda Collins and her husband Dan, of Groesbeck, Texas; one brother-in-law, Eudean Foster and his wife Louise; five grandchildren, Christy Schick, Brian Schick and his wife and Lani, Tanner, Dillon and Jenna Foster; two great-grandchildren, Jordan and Alyssa Schick; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dana Sowell, Derrick Sowell, Doug Carpenter, David Perry, Richard Winegart, and Brian Schick will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Alan Jones, James Ake, and Norman Gray.
A memorial fund has been established in Mary Foster's name at the Security State Bank in Buffalo Gap.
