Mary Carroll

Mary Glass Carroll, 90 of Abilene passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024, in Abilene.

Visitation will be 11:00 am Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be 12:00 noon on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd.  Graveside services will follow at 3:00pm at Williow Cemetery in Haskell, Texas.

Mary was born January 20, 1934, in Haskell, Texas to John Mayes and Stella Mae (Witherspoon) Glass.   She married James Carroll on February 14, 1952, in Haskell. She was a homemaker and loved playing games. She played in three different groups each week.

James and Mary had three children: Patricia, John and Steven, after living in Haskell the family followed James’s career as he worked for Shell Oil and they lived in 5 different states and 42 different houses. After they moved back to Abilene, they were members South Hills Church of Christ and had many friends there.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James, two siblings, Moreland Glass and Eula Faye Crawford.

Survivors include children, Patricia (Terrell) Harper of Bella Vista, AR., John (Lezlie) Carroll of Auburn, AL., and Steven (Cathy) Carroll of Clyde, Tx. Grandchildren are Erin Consuegra, James Carroll, Amy Carroll and Nicki Carroll, Noe Carroll, Vanessa Ramos, Nathaniel Carroll, and two great grandchildren: Ashley Carroll and Everly Ramos, and several nieces and nephews.
