Mary Anne Williams Brody, 74, of Abilene, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018 in Abilene. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 2, 2018 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel.

Mary Anne was born in Lubbock, TX to John and Alene Williams on September 19, 1943. She attended and graduated from Lubbock Monterey High School in 1962. She then continued her education in attending Texas Tech University. Mary Anne married Gary Brody in Abilene, TX on February 1, 1991. She began working for Southern Exploration in 1999 and retired as an Office Administrator.  

Mary Anne was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alene Williams; daughter, Lisa Salvato; brother, John Williams and nephew, Michael Pratt.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 30 years, Gary Brody of Abilene; daughter, Angie Thornton and husband, Trey, of Abilene; two sons, Alan Brody and his wife Jennifer of Abilene, and Greg Brody and his wife Sherry of Abilene; daughter, Kristy Wilson and her husband Shannon of Bridgeport, TX; sister, Kathy Pratt and her husband David of Bastrop, TX; nephews, Stephen Pratt and Phillip Pratt and his wife Maegan, all of Austin, TX; sister-in-law, Jenny Williams of San Diego, CA, and son-in-law, Chris Salvato of Johnstown, OH.  Mary Anne was also blessed with twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mary Anne, “Granny”, was graciously given a kind and sweet spirit and shared her generosity with all she could in any way possible. She truly made the world a better place. Her favorite things were breakfast, football, elephants, Israel, candles, pajamas, bingo, spud, and kitty.  Mary Anne loved her family and friends deeply and endlessly yet loved Jesus even more. Although she will be dearly missed, there is peace in knowing she is Home. 

Memorials may be made in Mary Anne’s honor to Rescue the Animals, SPCA.
