Martha Ann Doby

Martha Ann Doby, died in Abilene, Saturday, February 16, 2008, at the age of 60. A visitation will be today, February 17 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Funeral services will be Monday, February 18, 2008 at 2:00 pm both the visitation and the service will be held at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Pastor Richard Green and Pastor Greg Clemmer will officiate. Burial will follow the service at the Tuscola Cemetery. Martha was born, November 2, 1947, in Winters, Texas to James Raymond and Beatrice M. (Self) Childers. She attended Trent schools as a child then graduated from Abilene High School in 1966. Martha owned her own Beauty Salon in Abilene for 30 years. Her grandchildren; Hailey, Codey, Courtney, and Clarissa were the joy of her life. Martha was a Methodist. She loved reading and crossword puzzles. Martha's father, J.R. "Slim" Childers, preceded her in death. Martha is survived by her husband, Arley Doby of Abilene; her mother, Beatrice "Tats" Childers; one daughter, Nikki Casey and husband, Allan of Eula; one brother, Bobby Yoes and wife, Tenna of Buffalo Gap; two sisters, Janie Heatley and husband, Ken of Abilene and Mary Mead of Boerne, Texas; a special family friends, Les "Buster" Lawless and John Stevens; four grandchildren, Hailey and Codey Thomas, and Courtney and Clarissa Casey; and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made in honor of Martha Doby to the Hendrick Hospice Care, 1682 Hickory Street, Abilene, Texas 79601.
