Mark D. Stevens, 45, of Hawley, died Friday, September 7, 2007. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at the Hawley Church of Christ. Geoffrey Richter and Jerry Jordan will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Mark was born October 26, 1961 in Amarillo, Texas to Bobby Glenn Stevens and Margie (Simpkins) Stevens. He lived most of his life in Hawley, Texas, where he graduated from Hawley High School, and later attended McMurry University. November 11, 1991, Mark married Janice Paschal in Houston, Texas. He was co-owner of S-W Quality Hay. Mark attended Hawley Church of Christ.
Mark's mother, Margie Stevens, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Janice Stevens, of Hawley; his father and step-mother, Bobby and Betty Stevens, of Hawley; two sons, Josh Stevens, of Hawley, and Paul Starr and wife Danielle, of Abilene; two daughters, Mandy Green and husband Daryl, of Hawley, and Tammy Copeland, of Tye; one brother, David Stevens and wife Candy, of Hawley; two sisters, Lisa Luna and husband Danny, of Hawley, and Caron Garza, also of Hawley; five grandchildren, Charlie Green, Chrissy Brooks, Courtney Copeland, Clay Starr, and Cutter Star; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marjorie and Dennis Paschal, of Hamby; and several nieces and nephews.
Daryl Green, Kyle Stevens, Trey Stevens, Michael Prather, Seth Lockwood, Steve Mayes, Chad Taylor, and Danny Luna will serve as pallbearers.
