Marie Hart Holladay

Marie Hart Holladay, 91, of Abilene, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Potosi Baptist Church. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm in the Clear Fork Cemetery, Lueders, Texas. Rev. Keith Clifton will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Marie was born March 20, 1921 in Albany, Texas to Thomas and Maudie (Dennis) Tabor. She was raised in Lueders and graduated from Lueders High School. Marie worked as a postal clerk for 18 years in Lueders, Hawley and Abilene. She married Cecil Hart on May 31, 1941 in Stamford, Texas. He preceded her in death on November 2, 1983. In 1986, Marie moved to Abilene. She married Vic Holladay on February 14, 1991 in Abilene. He preceded her in death on September 22, 1998. Marie had formerly taught junior girls in Sunday School and worked with Girl Ambassadors (GAs) at Lueders Baptist Church. She had been a member of Rose Park Senior Citizens Center for 25 years. She also volunteered at the Paramount Theater. Marie was a member of Potosi Baptist Church. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Cecil Hart; her second husband, Vic Holladay; one brother Billy Ray Tabor; one sister, Erma Pollachek; one grandson, Chris Hart; and one step-son, Victor Holladay. She is survived by one son, Tommy Mack Hart and wife Gwen of Brownwood; two daughters, Suzie Gentine and husband Carl of Tuscola, and Debbie Underwood and husband Ronnie of Abilene; one step-son, Robert Holladay also of Abilene; 10 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and her extended family at Rose Park. Memorial donations may be made in Marie’s honor to the Rose Park Senior Citizens Center, 2625 South 7th St., Abilene, TX 79605.
