Margaret Ann Sims, 81, died Saturday, December 20, 2014, in Abilene, Texas.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee on August 2, 1933, Margaret was the only child of Aubrey Tate and Eula Daphne Tatom Moore. She was raised in Memphis, Tennessee where she graduated high school. She graduated Freed Hardeman College and taught elementary school in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Texas, most recently at Tye Elementary where she retired after twenty years.
She was a member of Hillcrest Church of Christ.
She was predeceased by her parents and a grandson, Aaron Paul Sims.
Margaret is survived by her five children, David Sims and wife Nan of Dougalsville, Georgia; Philip Sims and wife Leigh of Haskell; Patty Traweek and husband David of Merkel; Perry Sims and wife Audrey of Early; Danny Sims and wife Suanne of Abilene. A crowd of loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survives her.
Her children and grandchildren surrounded her in her last days with tears, laughter, and much love. The family thanks the staff of Northern Oaks, Silver Spring, and Hendrick Hospice.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 22, in Elmwood Memorial Park directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene.
