Mandy Joy Dobbs, 80, died Sunday, April 7, 2013 at an Abilene medical center.
Born in Goldsboro, Texas on October 7, 1932, Mandy was the daughter of Eula B. (Belyeu) and George Lamb.
Mandy enjoyed her days as a school bus driver for Odessa ISD. She enjoyed handcrafting special items for her loved ones. The many special treats always showed her love and affection for the one for whom she made the gift. Mandy’s stories and laughter will be missed by all.
Mandy was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Jesse J. Dobbs, in 1984, and her son, Terry G. Dobbs, in December 2012.
Survivors include her daughter Becky J. Dobbs of Abilene; sisters, Delta Buford and Sarah Wallace and her husband Dwayne Wallace, all of Abilene; brother, Richard Lamb of Fort Worth: granddaughter, Donetta Dobbs and husband Carlos Herrera; great-granddaughter, Alexa Michelle Aguilar, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, with Rev. Jim Ritter officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Sunset Cemetery in Odessa, Texas. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
