Mae Avonne “Maisie” Fletcher, 88, of Abilene died Saturday, January 11, 2014 in Coleman, Texas.
The daughter of Celest (Grusendorf) and Joseph A. Murray, Maisie was born on March 20, 1925 in Waco, Texas. She was a 1942 graduate of Abilene High School and attended Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene. She was a homemaker and a member of Church of the Heavenly Rest, Episcopal and the Carousel Luncheon Club in Abilene.
She was preceded in death by her husband, S. Richard Fletcher in 1986; in 1999 by her husband, Marshall Clark; a son, James Matthew Radford, II in 2004; and a sister, Muriel J. Mendoza in 2010.
Maisie is survived by two sons, John B. Radford and Smick Fletcher both of Abilene.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 16, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 17, in Elmwood Memorial Park Garden of Meditation directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Heavenly Rest, Episcopal with The Rev. N. Luke Back, Rector officiating. A reception in the Parish Hall at the church will follow the service.
