Lynnette Ann Simpson, 82, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on May 18, 2016 in Abilene, Texas.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Friday May 20, 2016, at Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, Texas Memorial services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at First Baptist Church Chapel, Abilene, Texas with Rev. Palmer McCown officiating.
Lynnette was born in Seminole, Oklahoma to Edgar Lynn and Bessie Cloria Stevenson on Mothers Day, May 13, 1934. She went to school in Sweetwater, Texas and graduated from Sweetwater High School in 1952. She Married J. W. Simpson on April 25, 1954 in Sweetwater. She retired from The Texas Department of Transportation as an Administrative Assistant after 22 years of service. She attended First Baptist Church in Abilene and was a member of the Pricilla Sunday School Class as well as the Bereavement Committee. She also enjoyed her water aerobics class and visiting friends in local nursing homes.
Lynnette was preceded in death by the love of her life, J. W. Simpson after 57 years of marriage.
Lynnette is survived by her son Steve and wife Ramona Simpson of Stephenville, Texas; daughter Darla and husband E.C. Wallace of Aberdeen, Maryland; grandson Marc Simpson of Stephenville, Texas; grandson Bryan, wife Adriene Simpson, and great grandson Logan Simpson of Lubbock, Texas; granddaughter Brittany and husband Adam Smith of York Pennsylvania; grandson Ethan Wallace of Aberdeen, Maryland; friend that was like a sister Elaine Robertson, daughter Teena, and special adopted grandson Aven Robertson of Abilene, Texas; adopted grandchildren Krystal and Darnell Brundage and children Deshaun and Kalani of Forney, Texas.
Memorials may be made to Harbor Lights, a ministry of First Baptist Church Abilene, Texas. The family would like to thank the nurses of Hendrick Hospice, especially Nurse Jenn who gave her the best of care.
