Lynda Means Nelson, 79, of Abilene, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 in Abilene.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday January 15, 2021 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2021 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel with John Fanning, officiating. Entombment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park Mausoleum under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home.
Lynda was born on June 2, 1941 in Olney, Texas to Marie (Hamilton) and Melvin Means. She and Tommy Nelson were married on June 22, 1958 in Abilene. He preceded her in death on October 23, 2010.
Lynda had a special spirit, which anyone who knew her could attest to. She loved reading and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lynda moved to Abilene in 1955 from Fort Worth, Texas and soon met the love of her life, Tommy. She supported him in all of his Masonic endeavors, including being a member of the Daughters of the Nile.
Lynda was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James Melvin Means.
Lynda is survived by two daughters, Tommye Lynn Marshall and Tammy Lee Nelson both of Abilene; two grandchildren, David Anthony Marshall and Tiffany Lynn Hackworth and husband Kent; three great grandchildren, Devin Marshall, Jesse Hackworth and Jaden Hackworth; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
